The Home Feed is your personalized cybersecurity command center. It aggregates posts from your connections, followed hashtags, company updates, and sponsored content into a single, chronological stream. The feed is designed to keep you informed about the latest developments in the cybersecurity industry while enabling you to share your own expertise with the community.
Capabilities
Rich Post Creation
Write text posts with formatting, attach images, videos, documents, and polls. Mention other users with @ and add hashtags with # for discoverability.
Multi-Reaction System
React to posts with Like, Celebrate, Insightful, Curious, and Support reactions each with a distinct icon, providing nuanced feedback beyond a simple like.
Threaded Comments
Comment on posts with full text support. Reply to existing comments to create nested discussion threads. Like individual comments.
Sharing & Reposting
Share posts to your feed with optional commentary. Repost interesting content to amplify it across your network.
Hashtag System
Follow hashtags relevant to your interests (e.g. #ThreatIntel, #CloudSecurity). Posts with followed hashtags appear prominently in your feed.

Frequently asked questions
How is my feed personalized?
Your feed prioritizes content from your direct connections, followed hashtags, and companies you follow. Posts with high engagement from your network are also surfaced. Sponsored posts from advertisers appear periodically, clearly labeled.
Can I create polls?
Yes. When creating a post, click the poll icon to add a multi-option poll. Set 2–4 options and an optional expiration time. Poll results update in real-time as users vote.
How do link previews work?
When you paste a URL into a post, the system automatically fetches a preview with the page title, description, and thumbnail image. This works for most websites, articles, and GitHub repositories.
Can I edit or delete my posts?
Yes. Click the three-dot menu on any of your posts to edit the content or delete it entirely. Edited posts show an "Edited" label.
What is the Live Attack Feed?
The Live Attack Feed is a real-time visualization of global cybersecurity events DDoS attacks, ransomware incidents, phishing campaigns, and more displayed with professional event cards and a world map overlay.
How do Trending Hashtags work?
The right sidebar displays the most-used hashtags in the past 24–48 hours. Click any hashtag to see all posts tagged with it. Follow hashtags to have them appear in your feed.
Recommendations
Use hashtags strategically 2 to 3 relevant hashtags per post maximize discoverability without appearing spammy.
Engage with comments on your posts within the first hour to boost visibility in the algorithm.
Follow industry leaders and companies to diversify your feed beyond direct connections.

Your Cyberr profile serves as your professional identity in the cybersecurity industry. It combines traditional professional networking elements headline, experience, education with cybersecurity-specific features like verified certifications, specialty badges, skill trees, and a reputation score. A well-crafted profile increases your visibility to recruiters, potential mentors, and clients seeking cybersecurity expertise.

How do I set up my profile?
Navigate to "My Profile" from the sidebar. Click the edit icon on any section headline, about, experience, education to add your details. Upload a professional avatar and a banner to stand out. Complete as many sections as possible to increase your profile strength.
What are Specialties?
Specialties are curated cybersecurity tags (e.g. Penetration Testing, Cloud Security, GRC, Threat Intelligence, Digital Forensics) that appear as visual badges on your profile. They make you discoverable when other users search or filter by expertise area.
How does identity verification work?
Go to your profile and click "Verify Identity". Upload a government-issued ID document. Our review team validates your identity. Once approved, a verified badge (shield icon) appears permanently next to your name, increasing trust across all platform interactions.
Can I import from LinkedIn?
Yes. In your profile editor, click "Import from LinkedIn" to pull in your professional experience, education history, and skills automatically. The import maps LinkedIn data to Cyberr's profile format.
How do I upload my CV?
Open your profile and click the "Upload CV" button. Supported formats are PDF and DOCX (max 10 MB). The AI-powered parser extracts your experience timeline, education, and technical skills to auto-fill profile sections. You can review and edit parsed data before saving.
What is the About section?
The About section is a free-text area where you describe your professional background, current focus, and what you're looking for. Use it to tell your cybersecurity story tools you specialize in, industries you've protected, and career aspirations.
How do I add Experience?
Click "Add Experience" on your profile. Fill in job title, company name, location, employment type (Full-time, Contract, Freelance), start/end dates, and a description of your responsibilities and achievements. Experiences are displayed in reverse chronological order.
How do I add Education?
Click "Add Education" on your profile. Enter your school/university name, degree, field of study, dates, and any activities or honors. The system searches a database of universities to match logos automatically.
What are Skills and how do I manage them?
Skills are technical competencies (e.g. Python, SIEM, Incident Response, AWS Security). Add them via "Edit Skills". Skills appear as badges on your profile and factor into your Skill Tree scores and search discoverability.
Can I set a custom username?
Yes. Edit your username in the profile settings. Your custom username creates a shareable profile URL (e.g. cyberr.app/u/yourname) for easy sharing on resumes and social media.
What is the Contact Info section?
Contact Info stores your email, phone, website, address, and birthday. Visibility is controlled by your privacy settings you decide who can see each field.
How do profile banners work?
Click the camera icon on your banner area. Choose from 9 cybersecurity-themed presets (SOC dashboards, network diagrams, code terminals) or upload a custom image. Banners display at a 4:1 aspect ratio.
What are Open To preferences?
The "Open To" feature lets you signal what you're looking for: job opportunities, freelance work, mentoring, collaboration, or speaking engagements. These preferences are visible to your network and recruiters.

Complete every profile section profiles with 100% completion appear 3x more in search results.
Use a professional headshot as your avatar profiles with photos receive 5x more engagement.

The "My Network" page provides a full-featured connection management interface with analytics, discovery suggestions, and invitation management. Unlike generic professional networks, Cyberr's algorithm prioritizes connections based on cybersecurity specialties, certifications, and industry focus ensuring relevant recommendations.

Frequently asked questions
How do I connect with someone?
Visit any user's profile and click the "Connect" button. You can add an optional personalized message explaining why you'd like to connect. The recipient receives a notification and can accept or decline your request. Once accepted, you both appear in each other's connection lists.
What is the difference between Connect and Follow?
Connecting is a mutual relationship both parties must agree. You see each other's posts and can message directly. Following is one-directional you see their public posts in your feed without requiring their approval, and they're notified that you followed them.
How does People You May Know work?
The recommendation algorithm analyzes multiple signals: mutual connections (people connected to your connections), shared cybersecurity specialties, geographic proximity, same industry, similar job titles, and engagement patterns. Dismissed suggestions won't reappear.
Can I see who viewed my profile?
Yes. Navigate to "Profile Viewers" from your profile page. You'll see a chronological list of users who visited your profile, including their name, headline, and the timestamp of their visit. This feature helps identify potential networking opportunities.
How do I withdraw a pending connection request?
Go to My Network → Pending tab. Find the sent request and click "Withdraw" to cancel it. The other user will no longer see your invitation.
What does the acceptance rate metric mean?
Your acceptance rate shows the percentage of your outgoing connection requests that were accepted. A high rate (>60%) indicates you're sending relevant, targeted requests. A low rate suggests you may want to add personalized messages.
Can I remove a connection?
Yes. Visit the connected user's profile and click the connection status button → "Remove Connection". This action is silent the other user is not notified of the removal.
How many connections can I have?
There is no hard cap on connections. However, the platform encourages meaningful, quality connections over mass networking. The suggestion algorithm favors users who maintain engaged networks.
Can I dismiss network suggestions?
Yes. Click the X button on any suggestion card to dismiss it. Dismissed users are tracked and will not appear in your suggestions again.
How does the network growth chart work?
The chart displays a 6-month rolling window of your total connection count, plotted monthly. It provides a visual trend of your network expansion, useful for tracking growth after events, publications, or career moves.

Always include a personalized message when sending connection requests it increases acceptance rates by 40%.

The Messaging system provides enterprise-grade communication between cybersecurity professionals. All messages are delivered in real-time with read receipts, online presence indicators, and threaded replies for organized conversations.

Frequently asked questions
How do I send a direct message?
Open the Inbox from the sidebar or click the message icon on any user's profile. If a conversation already exists, it opens directly. Otherwise, a new conversation is created. Type your message and press Enter to send. You can also share files, GIFs, voice notes, and emojis.
Can I create group chats?
Yes. In your Inbox, click "New Group Chat". Give the group a name, optionally set a custom avatar, and add members from your connections list. Group chats support all the same features as direct messages: file sharing, reactions, voice notes, and threaded replies.
Are messages encrypted?
All messages are transmitted over TLS (Transport Layer Security) and stored with encryption at rest. The platform follows industry-standard security practices. Messages are only accessible to conversation participants.
How do message reactions work?
Hover over any message to reveal the reaction bar. Click the emoji icon to choose from the full emoji picker, or use one of the quick-reaction options. Multiple users can react to the same message, and reaction counts are displayed below the message.
Can I reply to a specific message?
Yes. Hover over any message and click the reply icon. Your response appears as a threaded reply linked to the original message, preserving context in busy conversations.
How do I know if my message was read?
Read receipts appear as a subtle indicator below sent messages. When the recipient opens the conversation, messages are marked as read with a timestamp. Unread message counts appear as badges in the sidebar.
What file types can I share?
You can share images (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP), documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX), and other common file types. Files are uploaded to secure storage and remain accessible within the conversation indefinitely.
How do voice notes work?
Click the microphone icon in the message composer to start recording. Click again to stop. The voice note is automatically attached and sent. Recipients see a player with play/pause, duration, and a waveform visualization.
Can I edit or delete sent messages?
Yes. Click the three-dot menu on your own message to edit its content or delete it. Edited messages show an "Edited" timestamp. Deleted messages are removed for all participants.
What is the online presence indicator?
A green dot appears next to users who are currently active on the platform. This helps you know if a message is likely to receive an immediate response. Online status can be toggled off in Settings → Visibility.
How do GIFs work?
Click the GIF button in the message composer to open the GIF search. Browse trending GIFs or search by keyword. Click any GIF to send it instantly in the conversation.
Can I search through my messages?
Yes. Use the search bar at the top of the Inbox to find conversations by participant name. Within a conversation, you can scroll through the full message history.
Recommendations
Use voice notes for nuanced explanations they convey tone and urgency better than text.
Pin important group chats to the top of your Inbox for quick access.
React to messages to acknowledge them without cluttering the conversation with "OK" replies.

Certifications from Credly-supported organizations can be auto-verified instantly.

How do I add a certification?
Go to "My Certifications" in the sidebar. Click "Add Certification", search from our catalog of 200+ cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CEH, OSCP, CompTIA Security+, GIAC, AWS Security Specialty, etc.). Fill in your candidate name, credential ID, issue date, expiration date, and optionally upload a proof document. For Credly-supported certs, paste your badge URL for instant verification. Submit for review.
What is Credly auto-verification?
For certifications from Credly-supported organizations, you can paste your Credly badge URL and our system automatically verifies your credential by fetching the badge metadata and confirming the earner name matches your profile. This bypasses the manual review process entirely your certification is verified within minutes.
What verification statuses exist?
There are five statuses: Verified (confirmed by our review team or auto-verified via Credly green shield badge), Pending (submitted and awaiting review amber clock badge), Self-Declared (added but not yet submitted for verification gray badge), Expired (past the expiration date orange warning badge), and Could Not Verify (proof did not meet verification criteria red badge).
Can I upload proof documents?
Yes. When adding or editing a certification, click the upload area to attach a PDF, PNG, or JPG of your certificate, digital badge, or verification page screenshot. Proof documents are stored securely and only visible to the verification team.
How long does verification take?
Credly auto-verification completes within minutes. Manual reviews typically take 2–5 business days. Certifications with uploaded proof documents and valid verification URLs are processed faster. You'll receive a notification when your certification status changes.
What if my certification expires?
The system automatically updates the status to "Expired" when the expiration date passes. You'll receive a reminder notification 30 days before expiry. To renew, edit the certification with your new credential details and resubmit for verification.
Can I add certifications not in the catalog?
Yes. Use the "Custom Certification" option to manually enter the certification name, issuing organization, and details. Custom certs can still be submitted for verification with proof documents.
Are my certifications visible to everyone?
Verified certifications appear on your public profile by default. You can control visibility through your privacy settings. Pending and rejected certifications are only visible to you.

Use Credly auto-verification whenever possible it's the fastest way to get your certifications verified.
Upload your digital badge or certificate PDF immediately when adding a cert it cuts manual verification time in half.

Mentoring
Accelerate your cybersecurity career
The Mentoring platform uses an Airbnb-inspired Mode Switch between "Find a Mentor" (Mentee Mode) and "Mentor Mode". Both mentor and mentee features require a Premium subscription. Trial users can explore and set up profiles, but access locks after the trial ends. The integrated chat and video call system ensures seamless communication between mentor-mentee pairs.

How do I find a mentor?
Go to "Mentoring" in the sidebar. Browse the mentor grid or use filters: specialty (e.g. Cloud Security, Red Teaming), price range (including free mentors), language, session type (video, chat, CV review), and minimum rating. Click any mentor card to see their full profile with reviews, availability, and booking options.
How does the invitation workflow work?
Mentoring uses a connection-first model. A mentor (or mentee) sends an invitation with a proposed rate, currency (supporting USD, EUR, GBP, and more), and personal message. The recipient reviews and accepts, declines, or the sender can edit pending offers to update the rate or message which triggers a re-notification.
How do I become a mentor?
A Premium subscription is required to become a mentor. On the Mentoring page, switch to "Mentor Mode" and click "Become a Mentor". Complete your mentor profile: write a compelling tagline and about section, select your specialties (up to 10), set your hourly rate or mark as free, choose your session types, configure your weekly availability slots, and select your timezone and languages.
What is Mentor Mode?
Mentor Mode is a dedicated dashboard view for active mentors inspired by Airbnb's Host Mode. It shows your active mentees, sent invitations (Pending/Declined/Withdrawn), upcoming sessions, milestone progress, review scores, and the ability to re-invite mentees from terminal states.
What session types are available?

How do I create a Company Page?
Navigate to /company/create or click "Create Company" from the sidebar. Enter your company name, select the type (Business or Institution), add industry, location, and description. Upload a logo and banner. Your page is live immediately after creation.
What team roles are available?
Six roles with scoped permissions: Admin (full control), Editor (edit page content and post), Recruiter (manage jobs only), Analyst (view analytics), Marketing (post content and manage brand), and Employee (read-only verified member badge).
How does AI job parsing work?
When creating a job, paste any raw job description text into the AI import field. The system extracts structured data: title, description, location, job type, workplace type, salary range, experience level, and required skills saving you manual data entry.
Can I archive or delete a Company Page?
Yes. Admins can archive a page (hides it from public but preserves data) or permanently delete it (requires typing the company name to confirm). Archived pages can be restored at any time.
How do followers work?
Any Cyberr user can follow your company page. Followers see your company posts in their home feed. Track follower count and growth from the Followers tab in Company Admin.

Community Groups
Build and join cybersecurity communities
Community Groups on Cyberr enable cybersecurity professionals to form focused communities around topics, regions, certifications, or interests. Groups have their own feeds, member lists, and admin tools. Group admins can set join policies (open, approval-required, or invite-only), create membership questionnaires, define group rules, and manage members. Group posts support the same rich features as the main feed text, images, polls, reactions, and comments.

How does co-author tagging work?
When adding a research entry, search for co-authors by name. If they're on Cyberr, their profiles are linked. They receive a notification and the entry appears on their Research tab as well.

The Skill Tree visualises your expertise across 9 cybersecurity domains, with each domain gaining XP from related certifications and activities. The leaderboard ranks all users by total reputation score, creating healthy competition and recognising top contributors.

What are Skill Tree domains?
The Skill Tree covers 9 cybersecurity domains: Network Security, Cloud Security, Application Security, Cryptography, GRC, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Digital Forensics, and Security Operations. Each domain gains XP primarily from relevant verified certifications.
How do badges work?
Badges are awarded automatically when you reach specific milestones (e.g. "First Post", "10 Connections", "CISSP Verified"). Each badge awards bonus XP. View all earned and available badges on your profile.
Is the leaderboard public?
Yes. The leaderboard is visible to all authenticated users. It shows usernames, scores, and rank positions. You can filter by time period to see weekly, monthly, or all-time rankings.

Browse and be discovered anonymously
Ghost Mode is a Premium privacy feature for ID-verified members who want to explore opportunities without revealing their identity. When activated, your name, photo, current employer, and education are redacted from your public profile and search results. However, your skills, certifications, AI fit scores, and years of experience remain visible so recruiters can still assess your qualifications. Ghost Mode is ideal for employed professionals who want to passively explore the market without alerting their current employer. Recruiters can send reveal requests with job details; you control whether to disclose your identity.

What information is hidden in Ghost Mode?
Your name, profile photo, current and past employers, education institutions, and the about section are fully redacted. Your skills, certifications (names visible, organizations masked), specialty badges, AI fit scores, and years of experience remain visible for discoverability.
Can recruiters still find me?
Yes. Your skills, certifications, and experience data are still indexed in Talent Search. Recruiters see a "Ghost Candidate" card with your qualifications but no identifying information. They can assess fit and send reveal requests.
How do reveal requests work?
A recruiter clicks "Request Reveal" on your ghost profile. They include their company name, job title, salary range, and a message explaining why the role is a good fit. You receive a notification and choose to accept (revealing your full identity to that recruiter) or decline (staying anonymous).
Does Ghost Mode affect my posts?
When Ghost Mode is active, the anonymous posting toggle defaults to "on" for new posts. You can manually toggle it off per-post if you want to post publicly with your identity visible.
Can I see who viewed my profile while in Ghost Mode?
Yes. You still see your Profile Viewers list. However, your visits to other profiles are hidden from their viewers list.
What are the requirements?
Ghost Mode requires: (1) an active Premium subscription (€4/month), and (2) completed Identity Verification via Veriff. This dual requirement ensures accountability only verified professionals can use anonymous features.

How do I get started?
Sign up with your email address and create a password. Set up your profile: add a professional photo, headline, about section, and cybersecurity specialties. Is my data secure?
Absolutely. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. The platform implements Row-Level Security (RLS) policies on every database table, ensuring users can only access their own data. TOTP-based Two-Factor Authentication is available. We follow GDPR-compliant data handling practices with full data export and deletion capabilities.
Can I use Cyberr on mobile?
Yes. Cyberr is a fully responsive web application optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop browsers. You can also install Cyberr as a Progressive Web App (PWA) look for the install prompt in your browser, or on iOS tap Share → "Add to Home Screen". The PWA provides an app-like experience with offline support and push notifications.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) on any post, comment, or message and select "Report". Choose a reason category (spam, harassment, misinformation, etc.) and add optional details. Reports are reviewed by the moderation team. You'll receive a notification when action is taken.
Can I use Cyberr for recruiting?
Yes. Create a Company Page, subscribe to Business Premium (€4,000/year), and use Talent Search to source candidates by skill, certification, and location.
