Over 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, at vendors including McAfee, Rapid7, Exabeam, Vaultree, and Alice. Her extensive industry tenure has covered multitude of roles - technical support, researcher management, product building, marketing leadership, and three almost sleepless years as Global Threat Response Manager for McAfee Labs.
Samantha has defined strategy for multiple security products and technologies, helped hundreds of organisations of all shapes, sizes, and geographies recover and learn from cyberattacks, and brings a reality check to the world of (generally awful) cybersecurity marketing.
She regularly speaks at industry events including Steelcon, various BSides, Black Hat, May Contain Hackers, DTX, Infosecurity Europe, and Risk. A big supporter of the security community, she volunteers at many grassroots events, and helps organise BSides Newcastle, Leeds, and Lancashire. You'll find her wearing a red shirt with the third shift SOC goons at Def Con.
