Max severity SonicWall SMA1000 flaw now exploited in attacks

Attackers are exploiting a maximum-severity flaw in SonicWall SMA1000 appliances that was patched only three days earlier. The short gap between patch release and exploitation leaves internet-facing remote-access systems exposed if updates are delayed.

What to do

Patch SonicWall SMA1000 systems immediately and verify whether any appliances were exposed before the fix was applied.

Credential-Stealing GitHub Actions Workflows Planted in Tens of Thousands of Repositories

Researchers said attackers compromised two high-profile open-source maintainer accounts and used them to plant a malicious GitHub Actions workflow in more than 340 repositories. The workflow was designed to steal credentials, which makes source-control access a direct supply-chain risk for downstream users.

What to do

Review maintainer account protections and scan active GitHub Actions workflows for unexpected changes, especially in repositories that accept outside contributions.
