I'm making a deliberate move from 14 years in electrical, OT, and infrastructure into IT and cybersecurity — and my background is the reason I'll hit the ground running.

Most people entering security or networking roles understand the logical layer. I understand the physical one too. I've pulled cable, configured switches, deployed IP-based security systems, designed wireless networks, and troubleshot complex integrated environments — not in a lab, but in live commercial and operational settings where things actually had to work.

That foundation led me to formalize what I'd been applying practically. Over the past two years I've completed CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, and CySA+ — and I maintain a home lab where I practice network segmentation, firewall configuration, log analysis, and security monitoring across Windows and Linux systems.

I'm not trying to pretend I've spent five years in a SOC or a NOC. What I bring is something harder to teach: real infrastructure instinct, a troubleshooting mindset built under pressure, and genuine curiosity for how systems fail and how to make them more resilient.

I'm looking for a role in IT operations, networking, or security operations where I can apply everything I've built — and keep growing fast.
