With all the noise there has been around regarding AI and Cybersecurity, Let me come ahead and say that I am a total optimist about it. Here’s why:
1. AI has lowered the barrier of entry for people who want to be developers. As a result the market is being flooded by digital slop such as fragile broken applications that are way too insecure for their own good. If this is not job security, I don’t know what is. Go on world, build your slop, we are here getting paid to fix it. You might be funding my next vacation.
2. Next we have the influencers who are screaming, “Cybersecurity is Dead, AI killed it”. They honestly think my job is to smash my face into keyboard and and beat the fear mongering drum. Each time a “thought leader” tells the world that this field is dead, a student chooses a different field to build their career in. That is less competition and more money in my pocket.
3. It gave me a new service to sell. AI security, we are marketing it and sell it to companies. That’s an additional revenue stream.
4. I can now automate my work, that I used to put some elbow greese in past and do it. Ugly sloppy python scripts does those repetitive task of my work that gives me more time to touch grass (just kidding, I am gonna spend that time reading a book, binge watching a series or just going a rave). You know the important stuff in life.
So yeah, guys.. the verdict is in. Cybersecurity is a ghost town. It’s solved. It's finished. Don't try to work here. Stay away and leave the remains to me.
