Eight months ago, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in the Cybersecurity Career Kickstart+ program at Centre For Cybersecurity Institute. I was not sure what lay ahead, but I knew I wanted a change and cybersecurity felt like the future.
The journey was anything but easy. Balancing modules, hands-on labs, and assessments alongside daily life pushed me to my limits. I dived deep into network security, ethical hacking, threat analysis, and incident response. Skills I once thought were only for people with computer science degrees.
But week by week, something shifted. Concepts that once felt overwhelming began to make sense. I started thinking critically, spotting vulnerabilities, and understanding how to defend systems against real-world threats.
The program did not just teach me technical skills, it built my confidence. Through mentorship, practical projects, and a supportive learning community, I grew from a complete beginner into a job-ready cybersecurity professional.
Today, I am proud to say I did it. Eight months of dedication, persistence, and hard work, and I have successfully completed the program.
This just the beginning of my journey in cybersecurity, and I could not be more excited for what lies ahead.
With 25 years of experience designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise infrastructure, I bring a deep technical foundation to the world of cybersecurity. My systems engineering background — spanning network architecture, server administration, and cloud environments — gives me a distinct advantage in understanding how attackers think and where defenses break down.
I am now channeling that expertise into Security Operations and Incident Response, where I focus on threat detection, log analysis, and rapid containment of security events. I thrive in high-pressure environments that demand both technical precision and clear communication under fire.
