About
IT and telecommunications professional with over 7 years of experience keeping systems running, calls flowing, and users (mostly) happy. Experienced across unified communications, networking, and technical support, with hands-on expertise in platforms like Avaya IP Office, Gamma Horizon, and Microsoft Teams Voice.
Naturally drawn to problem-solving, complex faults, and the weird edge cases that don’t show up in documentation. Recently expanding into cybersecurity, building skills in SOC analysis, log investigation, and identifying suspicious behaviour before it becomes a problem.
Outside of work, actively involved in the InfoSec community, supporting events, contributing to projects, and occasionally embracing the role of “event goblin” to help things run smoothly behind the scenes.

Right, folks. Could do with your help getting some little chaos machines to Newcastle. 🤖
We’re supposed to be taking Infosec Battlebots to STEMfest next week, but we still haven’t secured the funding we need to get there.
Myself, Ben and Tim really want to make this happen. Getting young people hands-on with the bots, interested in how they work and excited about engineering and technology is why we do it. Having to pull out because we can’t cover the costs would be bloody gutting.
We’re looking for support towards:
🏨 Accommodation for the team
🚆 Travel to and from Newcastle
🔧 Bot parts and event essentials
Could you or your company help, or do you know someone who might be able to?
Sponsorship, covering a specific expense, supplying parts or introducing us to the right person would all help. It doesn’t have to mean funding the whole trip.
We’ve also got sponsorship options that include having a bot designed and run for your organisation at events. So if you fancy having your own little branded menace in the arena, let’s have a chat. 😂
If you can help, drop me a message. And if you can’t, please share this or tag someone who might, getting it in front of the right person could make all the difference.
Would quite like the bots to be the things having a breakdown next week, rather than us 😂💙

🤖 Help us keep Infosec Battlebots battling; and get us to STEMfest!
A personal ask for the cyber community: Ben, Tim and I are looking for sponsors to help cover three essential costs, insurance, accommodation and travel.
We have around two weeks to secure the sponsorship we need, or we’ll have to pull out of STEMfest.
We’re preparing to bring Infosec Battlebots to Newcastle this October for the Three-day event, but we need support with:
🛡️ Insurance funding; our biggest priority. Without it, we simply can’t run Infosec Battlebots.
🏨 Three/Four nights’ accommodation for the two of us.
🚆 Return travel to Newcastle for two of us. Luckily Ben lives locally.
We’d love to be there, but we need these costs covered to make it happen.
If you or your company could sponsor our insurance, contribute towards travel, or help with hotel stays, I’d love to hear from you. You don’t need to cover everything; support towards any one of these costs would make a real difference.
We’re happy to talk through the costs and discuss how we can recognise your support.
Can’t sponsor us? A share or an introduction to someone who might be interested would be hugely appreciated too. With around two weeks to sort this, getting it in front of the right people really matters. 💙
Drop me a message if you can help.
The robots can handle the fighting. We could use a hand with the bills. 🤖

A slightly more personal post from me today.
I’m currently on medical leave, and over the last few years chronic illness and disability have become a much bigger part of my life than I ever expected.
I live with a number of conditions, including hEDS, PoTS, ME/CFS, Chiari malformation, syringomyelia, chronic pain and a neurogenic bladder, alongside ADHD and autism.
A lot of that is invisible.
People might see someone working from a desk, answering calls, fixing technical problems or talking about telecoms and IT, without necessarily seeing the appointments, fatigue, pain, mobility aids, medication, procedures and planning that can sit quietly behind the scenes.
So, while I’ve got some time away from work to focus on my health and recovery, I’ve decided to start sharing a little more of that side of my life.
I’ve created an Instagram account called A Body With Opinions.
It’s not intended to be a polished “inspirational journey” or a highlight reel.
It’s simply somewhere I can talk honestly about living with chronic illness and disability, share what different conditions and treatments actually look like in day-to-day life, document my own experiences, and hopefully help make some of the less visible parts of disability a little more visible.
There will be serious posts, educational posts, hospital updates, good days, difficult days, and probably a fair amount of humour along the way.
If sharing my experiences helps somebody else feel less alone, helps someone understand chronic illness a little better, or starts a useful conversation around disability and accessibility, then I’ll consider that worthwhile.
If you’d like to follow along, you can find me on Instagram at:

Thanks to everyone who has supported me, checked in on me, or simply been patient and understanding while I’ve been navigating all of this. It genuinely means a lot. 💙
