While waiting for the CybHER bootcamp to start (Monday!!), I kept working on the Level Effect platform. And I'm happy to say I've passed their CDCA certification that validates the end of the "from 0 to Tier 1 SOC analyst" training path. For the "exam", you have to work through the alerts in four themed-scenarios, investigating network traffic with Wireshark, analysing emails, using sysinternals tools to inspect endpoints, and finally navigating Elastic to work through the capstone compromise. For that one, you then have to write a report that includes a table of IOCs, an executive summary, a technical analysis, and remediations. The staff at LevelEffect manually reviews it and gives you feedback on it. Very very useful because, turns out, report writing isn't that easy!!
Here's my credentials on their website: https://foundry.leveleffect.com/verify/nmzd89qw3w
It's me!! Mind blown 🤯 Thank you so much for the opportunity. I cannot wait to get started and level up 💪

Meet Kell D., winner of Cyberr's CybHER Bootcamp Scholarship with Guild Security.
Kell found cybersecurity while studying in Scotland, until a move back to France meant shelving full-time study. They kept going anyway, testing platforms and volunteering for KC7cyber.
Then the layoff came. The company they were working at went under, and the job went with it. What Kell gained was time. What they lacked was funding for further education.
The goal: defensive security, with ICS/OT as the long-term specialty. In Kell's words: ""I just need a bit of help getting there.""
Congratulations, Kell, we’re thrilled to announce you as the winner of the scholarship!
Kell’s journey starts 3 August. We'll be following every step.

I've been lucky enough to be shortlisted for the CybHER Scholarship. Crossing my fingers I'll go further, but regardless of the outcome, it's a great opportunity for whoever gets the full bootcamp ride and I bet they'll crush it!
