So, I wanted people's thoughts: what option is best for a cybersecurity junior who wants to become a penetration tester / red team? So far, I have the following options:
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- PEN-200: Penetration Testing with Kali Linux
- CompTIA PenTest+
All of these have some level of difficulty attached to them. Which one would boost a resume more, and which one would you recommend and for what reason?
From professional folks: If you had to hire a junior penetration tester, someone who's just getting into the field, what kind of certifications in their resume would make you want to hire them? I am currently researching and there's many options. Additionally, what kind of other skills would you look for?
Wanted to announce that I have finally completed my certification in Cybersecurity from M.I.T / Emeritus! This was a really informative course, and I feel excited to get more certifications for the future. If anyone has suggestions on the best certifications for red team / penetration testing, let me know!
Currently seeking opportunities as a penetration tester. I come from a computer science background but I have found my passion in cybersecurity through HackerOne, and I really want to be able to pursue this as a full-time job. If anyone knows of any beginner friendly positions, please link!
