Running a local Al (like Qwen) on LMStudio to speed up your research during bug bounties is amazing, but exposing your setup to a public network isn't. Here is how I built a 100% private, hardware-accelerated link from my Kali VM to my Mac, so I can query the Al safely without leaking anything to the LAN

1. Loopback-Only Inference

Instead of opening LM Studio to the local network, I bind the API server strictly to the macOS host's loopback interface (127.0.0.1:1234). This keeps the model entirely invisible to the public Wi-Fi, while still taking full advantage of the Mac's unified memory and hardware acceleration.

2. SSH Local Port Forwarding

To bridge the virtual network gap between the Kali VM (running in UTM) and the macOS host, I use a secure SSH tunnel instead of vulnerable network bindings.

ssh -N-L 1234:127.0.0.1:1234

user@host_ip

3. Passwordless Cryptographic Auth

Using an Ed25519 key pair, the VM and host establish mutual trust. This allows the connection to authenticate instantly in the background without storing cleartext credentials.

4. Seamless CLI Orchestration

I wrapped the SSH tunnel logic and a lightweight Python API client into a simple Zsh function. Now, I can type:

ask Summarize WAF bypass techniques for this payload

straight into the Kali terminal. It silently verifies the encrypted tunnel and pulls the inference natively, with zero egress, zero telemetry, and zero attack surface.

Offloading the heavy neural compute to the host keeps the guest VM lean and fast, while the transport layer security ensures my prompts and assessment artifacts stay strictly on-device.

How is everyone else integrating local Al into their offensive workflows? I'd love to hear about it!

Hi everyone! Excited to join the Cyberr community. 🚀

I’m currently an MEng Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics student, heading into my final year of study in September 2026. While balancing my degree, I’ve been heavily invested in self-study—specifically sharpening my Bug Bounty skills and preparing for the AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam.

Most notably, my research focus is shifting toward the security of SWIFT banking systems, which will be the central theme of my final dissertation. Understanding the intricacies of global financial messaging is a fascinating challenge, and I’m eager to dive deeper into the architecture that keeps global capital moving.

I’m here to connect with the industry and find opportunities to grow my hands-on experience. I would be honored to chat with anyone about my research areas—especially those working in #FinTech, transaction management, or financial security.

Looking forward to learning from you all! 🛡️💻
