My First Official Mentorship Session on Cyberr.

Here's How It Went.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of conducting my very first mentorship session on Cyberr, and honestly, it was one of the most fulfilling things I have done in a while.

My mentee came in with a clear, focused goal: land her first entry-level role in cybersecurity.

That kind of clarity is already a strong foundation to build on.

Here is a quick breakdown of how we spent the session:

Goal Alignment

We opened by exploring her cybersecurity career goals in detail. Understanding where she wants to go helped me shape the rest of the session around what actually matters for her specific path.

Mock Interview

We did a live role play where I stepped into the interviewer's chair and put her through a round of real interview questions. We then used ChatGPT to score her responses. This single exercise surfaced knowledge gaps she wasn't even aware of, and that kind of honest mirror is priceless early in a career journey.

Actionable Next Steps

To close out, I presented a concrete roadmap: three key projects that can significantly boost her visibility to recruiters and give her something tangible to show, not just a list of certifications.

If you are looking to break into cybersecurity and want a structured, hands-on session like this, reach out to me through the mentorship feature here on Cyberr. It is completely free.

And if you want a preview of where to start, I just published a walkthrough video of the first project I recommended to her:

The journey to your first role does not have to be a solo one. Let's build together.
