If you're serious about breaking into cybersecurity, step away from bootcamps and certificates for now, one recognized entry level cert is good for starters.
Focus first on building real, hands-on skills through platforms like Hack The Box and LetsDefend. These platforms put you in scenarios that mirror what SOC analysts, pentesters, and security engineers face on the job every day.
Build your own personal virtual lab. Get comfortable with the tools that actually matter in the field: Burp Suite, Wireshark, Nmap, Amass, and others. Use them to complete end-to-end projects you can show to a recruiter or hiring manager.
Here's the trap most beginners fall into: collecting certificates without ever applying what they've learned. A certificate tells an employer you completed a course. A project tells them you can think and execute under pressure.
Learn, then build. Build, then document. That's the loop that separates people who get hired from people who stay stuck.
