Why Heelr, when Upwork and Fiverr have been around for years and are far bigger than we'll ever be?
Size isn't the thing that matters here. Those platforms are open to everyone, which is fine if you're buying a logo. It's a different story when the work is security. Anyone can write anything on a profile there and nobody checks it, so a company that's already scared and doesn't know much about cyber ends up guessing, and the last thing you want is somebody guessing about who gets access to their systems.
We verify so that being verified means something. Your badge is worth exactly as much as the people who don't have one. So we check who you are, we check your background, and we only do security, nothing else. It's slower for us and it's more work for you, and it's still the only way this works.
Your credibility is the actual product here. If we let that get diluted there's no reason for a company to trust anything they find, and then none of us have anything.
We know this space and we want to serve it better than a general marketplace can. In practice that means speed and visibility for you - real companies with real problems coming to you directly, without four intermediaries and three weeks in between.
