Cyber operations don’t start when conflict erupts.
They start quietly… months in advance.
I recently attended a session on cyber operations in modern conflict, and one thing became clear:
The battlefield is no longer physical first, it’s digital.
Key Insights:
✅️AI is redefining targeting
This isn’t just automation anymore. Threat actors are using AI to improve precision, who to target, when to strike, and how to maximise impact.
✅️Telegram has evolved beyond messaging
It’s now part of the attacker’s toolkit, used for coordination, payload distribution, intelligence sharing, and even operational control.
✅️Defenders are not leveraging AI enough. While attackers are experimenting and evolving quickly, many defensive strategies are still reactive. That gap is becoming a serious risk.
What this means in practice:
Cybersecurity teams need to shift from:
Reactive detection → Predictive intelligence
Tool-based defense → Intelligence-driven operations
Manual analysis → AI-augmented decision making
The real question is no longer “Are we secure?”
It’s:
👉 “Are we evolving as fast as the threats?”
If not, then the gap isn’t technical… it’s strategic.
