Got a message this morning: "Enjoy International Women in Cyber Day!" 🛡️

My first thought: enjoy🙄? To-do list is so long (as we all have) that I'll probably get to celebrate at next year's International Women in Cyber Day 🙃🙃.

But then I actually stopped to think about it.

Here's a number I keep coming back to - more than any zero-day, honestly: women make up just 22% of cybersecurity teams globally. And 16% of teams have zero women at all. Meanwhile the threats aren't exactly shrinking - attackers are using AI to scale up, so the people defending against them can't all come from the same talent pool.

The good news? 72% of women in the field say it's a welcoming career, and satisfaction is climbing. The door isn't locked - it's just that not enough people know it's there.

And here's the part I care about most: it doesn't matter whether you're a technical or a business person in cyber. Threat hunters, engineers, partnership builders, marketers, lawyers, community organizers - the field needs all of it. At Cyberr and Heelr , that's basically the whole thesis: a "cyber person" isn't one narrow profile. It's a network, a marketplace, an ecosystem of people who each secure the digital world from a different angle. So maybe the long to-do list is the whole point - there's more than enough work here for all of us, and plenty of room for more women to take it on. 💪

To the brilliant women in these photos: thank you for making my work environment much more fun - in the past, right now, and certainly in the future.💙

And one more thing: September 1 is also the first day of the school year. Warm wishes to all the students heading back to class, the parents surviving the morning rush, and everyone starting or continuing a journey - may it be a good one. 📚
