One of the most difficult parts of my role as a QA Lead is helping development teams understand one critical reality:

Users don’t experience a vulnerability, bug, or defect the same way engineers do.

To a developer, it might be:

“a small UI issue”

“just an edge case”

“not reproducible consistently”

“low severity”

But to the user?

It’s:

-> frustration

-> confusion

-> loss of trust

-> wasted time

-> sometimes even a reason to abandon the product entirely

Users don’t care how complex the backend architecture is. They care that the product works.

That perspective changes how you approach Quality Assurance.

QA is not just about finding defects.

It’s about representing the user in rooms where technical logic can sometimes overshadow real-world experience.

Sometimes the hardest part of QA isn’t identifying the issue…

It’s convincing everyone else why the issue actually matters.
