The Cyber Resilience Act is not just a 2027 compliance deadline.
For companies selling digital products in Europe, 2026 is when the pressure starts.
From 11 September 2026, manufacturers will need to report actively exploited vulnerabilities and severe security incidents affecting products with digital elements. Full CRA obligations apply from 11 December 2027, but waiting until then is a risk. (Digital Strategy)
This changes the conversation from “do we have security controls?” to:
Can we detect exploited vulnerabilities fast enough?
Can we prove how software was built and maintained?
Can we report incidents with confidence?
Can product, security, legal, and leadership work from the same facts?
Cyber resilience is becoming a product requirement, not just a security function.
The organizations that prepare now will not just meet the CRA. They will build more trustworthy products.
How ready is your product team for September 2026?
