Your firewall can be working perfectly while an attacker is already inside.

That sounds contradictory.

It isn't.

Modern attacks don't always look like attacks.

A compromised employee account can authenticate normally.

A stolen session token can bypass the login process entirely.

A malicious insider can use approved tools.

An attacker with valid credentials can move through systems without triggering the alarms you expected.

This is why “Are we secure?” is becoming the wrong question.

The better question is:

“If someone compromised us today, how quickly would we know?”

Look beyond the perimeter.

Monitor identity behavior.

Correlate authentication with endpoint activity.

Watch privilege changes.

Investigate unusual access patterns.

Connect cloud, network, endpoint, and application telemetry.

Because a single event may look harmless.

The sequence of events can reveal the attack.

Cybersecurity isn't just about building walls.

It's about having the visibility to recognize when someone is already walking through the door.

Prevent. Detect. Respond. Learn. Repeat.

Schomer: Spot on. When an attacker is 'logging in' rather than 'breaking in' using legitimate or stolen credentials, traditional security perimeters crumble. A massive challenge in detection engineering today is the sheer volume of telemetry needed to catch that sequence of events without drowning the SOC in false positives. This is exactly why we built ETBV. While robust visibility is critical, our focus
