Jigsaw v5.1 Upgrade: Shifting Focus to Advanced Windows Forensics and Code Remediation

When real-world infrastructure throws curveballs, you do not just troubleshoot, you engineer solutions.

I am currently working on a major upgrade to Jigsaw (v5.1), which is actively in progress. While the older version is already available on my GitHub, the next iteration is evolving significantly. I am expanding its capabilities to dive deep into crucial Windows Forensic artifacts to provide incident responders with a more holistic telemetry view during a breach investigation.

In this video clip from my current build environment inside FlareVM:

Artifact Expansion: Moving beyond basic files to target deeper forensic paths (Registry hives, event logs, and persistent execution mechanisms).

OWASP Top 10 Mitigation: Remediating a severe Zone.Identifier directory path injection vulnerability (OWASP A03 pattern). I implemented single-quote escaping to firmly secure dynamic PowerShell execution routes against injection vectors.

Modern Tooling: Leveraging automated code reviews via local terminal tooling (Claude Code) to rapidly audit and optimize script structure on the fly while the build is in process.

Cybersecurity is not about running static scripts. It is about writing resilient, secure automation that stands up to modern execution environments.

The upgrade is still actively being developed with more forensic ideas being implemented, but you can check out the current repository and older releases on my GitHub here:
