I work in a college town not terribly far from a major city, and there is very little cyber security presence outside of the major metropolitan area. Security is not just for big companies doing business in the city. Often times, it's smaller businesses that are prone to vulnerabilities, speaking from experience.

In 2022, our company of about 100 people became crippled after a ransomware attack. After about a week of downtime, we were able to begin restoring data via an off-site backup. Because of DFSR replication, not everything could be saved, and we ended up having to pay the ransom - a very heavy fine. Since the incident, we have taken great measures to improve our security posture, but it's not as great as it can be with a team of only 2 or 3 people in IT.

I see the need for smaller security companies that provide managed solutions with a focus on small businesses where small IT teams don't have time to focus on endpoint detection and ever-changing security frameworks.
