A vulnerability doesn't have to be complicated to become dangerous. It just needs to reach the right server.

The cybersecurity community is currently dealing with PHP2Shell — two critical PHP vulnerabilities, CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619.

Both are rated 9.2 CVSS v4.0 and can enable remote code execution on vulnerable PHP systems.

What makes this particularly concerning is the speed at which exploitation attempts appeared after disclosure.

Cloudflare reported millions of exploit attempts, while other researchers observed attackers testing the vulnerabilities around the disclosure window.

This is the modern vulnerability lifecycle:

Vulnerability → Disclosure → Exploit attempts → Emergency patching

The window between those stages keeps getting shorter.

For defenders, this means vulnerability management cannot be a monthly checklist.

Know what you have.

Know what is exposed.

Know which versions you're running.

And when a critical vulnerability drops:

Move before the attacker does.
