Spent the whole day putting my lab behind Cloudflare Zero Trust, and for a moment I thought, “This is clean.”
Then I ran Nmap for a target, and the network started lying to my face.
The second I saw fabricated scan results and service visibility that didn’t reflect the actual lab, the experiment was dead.
I don’t build offensive infrastructure for polished dashboards, identity theatre, or middleboxes that rewrite reality between me and the target.
So within 18-20 hours, I ripped the whole thing back out and went straight back to my own firewall rules and DNS server, because that’s where I actually have control.
Biswadeb’s Lab is not built for a honeymoon with security products. It’s built for real-world operations, raw visibility, and systems that tell the truth under pressure.
Cloudflare Zero Trust is good for corporate access control.
But in my lab, if the packets don’t tell the truth, it has no place there.
