The cybersecurity skills gap just got more specific 👇

New research from the Cisco-founded AI Workforce Consortium shows that AI skills are now required in over a quarter of cybersecurity job postings across G7 countries, roughly double what it was just a year ago.

But here's the part that should worry the industry: senior roles are growing fast, junior roles barely are. Employers are increasingly asking entry-level candidates for senior-level skills, especially hands-on experience with AI agents. The result is an "experience paradox": the roles meant to bring new talent in are becoming harder to break into, not easier.

At the same time, security teams are being reshaped around human + AI collaboration. Roles like the SOC analyst are shifting from manual triage to supervising and validating AI agents. New skillsets like ethical reasoning, systems thinking, and stakeholder engagement are surging in demand, alongside core technical skills like Python, prompt engineering, and agent orchestration.

This is exactly the gap Cyberr exists to close. Our marketplace connects startups and SMEs with vetted cybersecurity professionals and suppliers who already have these capabilities, while our new training partnerships (SANS Institute, CompTIA, AI Cert and more) let our community upskill directly on the platform to stay ahead of where the market is heading.

The skills gap isn't closing on its own. The question is who adapts fast enough to fill it.

Ben N.: I agree with you, Laurent. Companies are seeing the limits of AI. Ford rehired senior developer roles this summer after realizing AI couldn’t replace that expertise.
