Somewhere between the first CTF and the fifth incident response at 2am, something shifts. The question is whether it shifted toward purpose or toward exhaustion. Cybersecurity is one of the few fields where people genuinely debate whether passion is an asset or a liability. Where "I do this because I love it" and "I do this because it pays well" are treated as fundamentally different kinds of people. Where burnout is normalized and obsession is glorified.
