In the very near future the science of provenance, who or what made a digital thing is going to be as important as HTTPS (TLS/SSL) has been these past 30+ years of commercial internet.
This is the same 'how do we know if AI or a human made it' question we've all be asking ourselves lately.
Think that the use of watermarks is not only for AI generated things. In this age of every increasing digital power, a provable provenance of digital artefacts is required for creators of all stripe, AI, Human or whatever comes next.
I built https://provcheck.ai as an set of tooling to enable both human and AI to work with provenance by providing the tooling so everyone can view or create their own.
open-source, free as in speech, private as in we respect users.
