James W. — Decision Intelligence Executive
The older I get, the more convinced I become that cybersecurity has never really been about technology. Technology changes every few months. Threat actors change every few weeks. The next shiny tool arrives almost every day. The problems don't.
Organizations still struggle to answer the same questions. What actually matters? Where should we invest? Which threats deserve immediate attention? How do we reduce risk without slowing the business down? That's where I've spent my career.
I've built threat intelligence programs from the ground up, redesigned vulnerability management strategies that cut critical exposure by more than 50 percent, directed cyber incident response for one of the largest healthcare environments in the country, and helped executives make security decisions they could confidently defend in the boardroom.
I've never been interested in collecting indicators for the sake of collecting indicators. I care about what those indicators mean to the business. Can they disrupt operations? Impact revenue? Damage customer trust? Change how leadership should prioritize resources tomorrow morning? That's the work I enjoy.
If your organization is looking for someone who sees cybersecurity as a business capability rather than an engineering expense, someone who is just as comfortable discussing adversary tradecraft as they are speaking with executives about risk, resilience, and strategy, I'd love to have that conversation.
I'm exploring senior opportunities across Cyber Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, Security Operations, Vulnerability Management, and vCISO leadership.
Sometimes the best investment isn't another security product. It's bringing in someone who knows how to make all the ones you already own work together.
