Michael M. — Werkstudent IT-Security

Hey community,

I just joined Cyberr and wanted to introduce myself. I'm finishing my Bachelor's in Business Informatics at TH Augsburg, Germany, and I'm looking for my first full-time role in cybersecurity starting April 2026.

My path into security wasn't the typical one. Before university, I spent ten years in project management, five of those at MAN Truck & Bus. At some point I realized I wanted to build and break things instead of managing them, so I went back to school at 36. No regrets.

Since then I've been all in on security. I worked as a working student at an IT security company developing automated vulnerability scanning tools. My thesis covers automated vulnerability analysis for containers and VMs. I compete in CTFs with my university team (hack.lu, Flare-On) and I built my own CTF challenges at hacking-challenge.ctfd.io. At home I run a segmented lab with VLANs, firewall rules, VPN, Docker, and way too many side projects.

My daily tools are Python, Bash, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, and whatever Linux throws at me (15+ years and counting). Currently working towards the OSCP.

I'm open to pentesting, SOC, security engineering, or secure development roles. Based in Augsburg, Germany, but happy to relocate within the EU or Switzerland. Remote works too.

If you're hiring or know someone who is, I'd love to connect. And if you just want to talk CTFs or homelabs, also happy to chat.
