Most people think getting into cybersecurity is about certificates.

It’s not.

I’ve seen many people collect certifications… and still struggle to get interviews.

The real difference is this:

👉 Can you actually solve problems?

In my experience working in IT support, I’ve dealt with real-world issues — from system errors, network problems, to user access and troubleshooting under pressure.

This is where cybersecurity actually starts.

Not theory. Not slides.

👉 Real systems. Real users. Real problems.

Now I’m focusing on building hands-on cybersecurity skills:

SOC fundamentals

Threat detection

Incident response thinking

Step by step.

No shortcuts.

The goal is simple:

👉 Become someone who can detect, understand, and respond — not just someone who memorizes.

If you're also transitioning into cybersecurity, focus less on collecting certificates…

and more on building real skills.

What’s one real problem you solved recently that taught you something valuable?

Malek A.: i've been a networks and security support technical referee myself. this is where mainly i acquired most if my critical skills.

Laurent H.: i Agree Rifat Abuelenin, Certificates help, but real skills get you hired. Cybersecurity is about solving real problems, not memorizing theory.
