Senior Operational Security Architect
Location : remote with 2 or 3 days per month onsite (Gand)
Languages : English or French
Responsibilities:
Define, maintain, and evolve security architectures, standards, and best practices across the IT environment.
Translate security risks and business requirements into pragmatic technical and operational security solutions.
Support and guide security engineering, vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response initiatives.
Provide expertise on cloud security, network security, endpoint protection, infrastructure security, and data protection.
Collaborate closely with Security Operations Center (SOC) teams, infrastructure teams, application teams, and external partners.
Assess existing security controls and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Ensure alignment between security architecture, governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and risk management objectives.
Contribute to the development of long-term cybersecurity strategies and roadmaps.
Profile:
Proven experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, infrastructure security, or related domains.
Strong technical knowledge of networking, operating systems, cloud platforms, and modern security technologies.
Ability to analyze complex technical environments and design scalable, sustainable security solutions.
Experience with security frameworks, governance practices, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience working with operational security teams and security technologies.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to bridge the gap between operational teams, security specialists, and business stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, SSCP, Security+, Microsoft Azure Security, or AWS Security Specialty are considered a plus.
Experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector is an advantage.
