SUMMARY
Provisions and maintains the AWS infrastructure. Without this role, the Backend Developer will be distracted from migration work keeping infrastructure running.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or AWS CDK
Design and own CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or similar)
Configure networking — VPCs, subnets, load balancers, Route 53, CloudFront
Set up monitoring, alerting, and logging (CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar)
Manage cost optimisation and auto-scaling policies
Maintain deployment environments and rollback strategies
REQUIREMENTS
4+ years in a DevOps or cloud engineering role
Strong AWS fundamentals — EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, ALB
Proficient in Terraform or AWS CDK
CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions preferred)
Comfortable with Linux administration and scripting (Bash/Python)
